Andover Reviews

My wife and I moved to Andover a few years ago. I work in a regional middle school/high school and Andover is one of the towns it serves. It's a very small town of 3,000 people - much smaller than my wife or I were used to. It is a quiet, rural community. The people here are very friendly and the town has a neighborly feel with everyone in town helping out those around them. It's still close enough to get to Hartford, but quiet enough that we feel like we have privacy. There is not much happening in town as far as shopping or entertainment, but you can travel 20 minutes to the Manchester area which has everything you need for shopping and restaurants.
To an outsider Andover, Connecticut may be one of the most bland towns they have ever had the pleasure of passing through. With a population just over 3,000, the town's busiest location would most likely be the liquor store. However, once you step inside the walls of this seemingly dull, little town you discover that the atmosphere is not at all what it seems. Andover is the perfect place to raise a family, receive a wonderful education, and make lifelong friends.
Living in a small town has many perks; however, their is also a sense of confinement. I feel that I need to break free to reach my full potential. I need explore the world--live and learn. I wish to visit a place where all people are not upper-middle class Caucasians working a nine to five job. All in all, I am forever thankful for my small town of Andover, but I yearn for more diversity and adventure. Maybe one day when I become too old to explore the world, I will come back to my forever home in Andover, Connecticut.

The area is very quiet and very safe. This area is close to my current college.
