Amityville is an average town with plenty of low priced stores to shop in. It is supported by the movie theaters in Farmingdale, the shopping centers in Massapequa, and the parks/beaches in Copaigue. If you are here for a visit or want to move here then end up looking for something to do, then don't be shy and enjoy a movie or wander around the mall. There are plenty of things to do and the places mentioned are no more than 15 minutes away.

I love the location because highway and stores are nearby and pretty much everything else. Some streets are quiet. I hate the school system in this town. There's no good public school for kids. If you reside in Amityville and wants a good education for your kids, you must enroll them in private school which is extremely expensive. People are fairly nice. It has carribean food stores and many health food stores. A lot of families reside in Amityville. The North side is more welcoming then the south side.
Quiet neighborhood, even though neighbors are pretty nosy. Most lived here for years so they think they own the place but it’s nice living on the water except the bugs
