If I could live here again, I would say yes. I live on campus at University of Massachusetts - Amherst. The campus offers great security. There are always events and clubs that keep me busy. This area is generally very nice; there are many great restaurants/ cafes, shopping centers, and hobby stores.
There are not many crimes in Amherst that I know of. The only crimes that I can thing of occur on campuses where alcohol and safety are a big problem. There have been instances of rape, drug related violence, and other violations, but they are very rare and are always taken care of.
