Ambridge is an older town. It sits along the Ohio River and was once a bustling town. Now it is a shell of its former self. Many buildings are empty, condemned or dilapidated. There is a huge amount of bars, drug trafficking and prostitutes are regular sightings. There is no updated grocery stores. There are few restaurants, but there is a good one called The Taphouse. There are no parks or walking trails. There is very little new construction. The cost of living is low, however, if you can find a decent building. Sewickley is only 10 minutes down the road, offering much more by way of restaurants and stores, and Baden in the opposite direction has a clean Walmart. I would love to see Ambridge cleaned up, some bars closed, and some better infrastructure.
Review Ambridge
With the police station being the center of the entire town, you know that there is safety at hand. Are 9-1-1 Center is on-hand not far from the police station. The town has plenty of parks for the kids and adults. They have a beautiful Botanical Garden that they set up every year behind the police station so you know it's completely safe along with a small skate ramp for the local children with skateboards. Ambridge overall keeps everything kid friendly and family-friendly. I would love to see the main street of Ambridge, live again, though. Most of the strip of stores have all shut down. There are some wonderful breakfast places and small businesses, but most of the store fronts are now closed.
Small town west of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Most of the population is fiercely loyal. Ambridge has it's problems like most small towns. Population is older with not many young families moving in. The older folks don't seem as concerned about getting out to vote new candidates in who want to see change.
