Altamont is a small community that rests at the foot of the Helderberg mountains. The small country town is home to roughly 2,000 people and offers small pleasures like a small restaurant dedicated to war veterans and filled with memorabilia of the wars as well. I have moved to Altamont since 2012 and love the neighborhood and the safety. The apartment I live in is very clean and pet friendly. We leave our doors open and we feel safe. The travel to malls and restaurant is not that bad. It is also near by a community Y and Cross gate and Colonie mall. It also has an Indian grocery store near by, which is good for my family since we are Asian Indian. Their also are few temples that we can go worship. All in all a beautiful and safe place to live.
