I have lived in Alsip for 17 years and find it to be a very family friendly neighborhood with nice people in it. I also like Alsip because it is close to my work and as a result I have a short commute time. Alsip is also close to the college that I go to and as a result allows me to be as immersed in the school as I would like. Basically, Alsip is a nice area and I would recommend it to anyone interested in living here. I would recommend that Alsip increase its events that is has to connect with the residents in the area, such as its annual festival for the whole residents.
Review Alsip
The neighborhood is very friendly. It's full of all different sizes of families so there are many different age groups to make the neighborhood versatile. One thing I would love to change about the neighborhood would be the speed limit outside of my home. Since it is off a busy street and near the highway, drivers coming or going to the tollway tend to drive fast and not want to stop when my family and I are trying to turn into the driveway of our home.
I have lived in Alsip for seven years. It is an enjoyable place to live. The library and park district offer entertainment for families. The grocery stores and retail shops are close together and have friendly staff. It is a safe place to live. I walk my dog all the time and run into little trouble. There are multiple ways to easily get to Chicago if you choose, but most of the time you can find something to do in Alsip.
