Alexandria is a great city for millennials and family. Great jobs, walkable, bikable, Farmer's market, excellent restaurants, nightlife, safe, good transportation, exceptional school rankings, etc. Del Ray is by far the best area to live, and Old Town is great as well. The city balances green living with progressive views. Homes are expensive to rent or own, but the job opportunities surpass other areas. 10 to 15 minute drive to DC, right next to another excellent city, Arlington as well. People are very friendly, and dog walking and baby strolling parents are everywhere. Amazing city!
Review Alexandria
Alexandria is a suburb in the Virginia, DC area. The cost of living is high; the Realestate market is costly, and some amenities associated with living in a big city, even though we are less than 20 minutes from DC, are missing. For instance, there are very few 24 hour dining experiences available.

Old Town Alexandria is a beautiful and historic town with many fine dining and expensive store fronts. It's an affluent area. It can be hard to afford to live here. But if you can, it's a wonderful place to be!
You do not need to drive far for anything. Want to hang out? Great places close by. Need to shop for groceries or necessities? Do not worry, all you need is with a few miles away. Hungry and do not feel like cooking? Well, you're in the right area. Pick a spot and enjoy!
I would like to see safety increase. Some neighborhoods seem a little less pleasant than others however county police is great.
