It's a quiet town. That's the best part. However, over the past few years, it seems drugs have taken over many of the younger population in the town. Cars and homes are getting broken into to feed their habits, and it's so sad. I grew up in Albany, and it breaks my heart to see it go downhill so fast here lately.
The police are very visible and always responsive. It doesn't matter the situation; if the police are needed they will show up. Sometimes they can be a bit too responsive with little issues, but other than that, they are fine. The overall safety of the town is nothing to be worried about. Hardly anything bad ever happens in Albany.
Everyone in Albany is really nice. They are all very welcoming and it's a very friendly environment. There's not much to do, but there's a huge park where the family can go sledding every year and there is a recreational center where teenagers go to play basketball every Wednesday and Friday free of charge.
