Akron is a very enjoyable small town to live in. It is a nice, family friendly town that is very close to many other attractions. Close by is Ephrata where children will attend school. Also close by is Lancaster City where there are many things to do and to explore. New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Pittsburgh are relatively close as well.

Akron's not as exciting as the town I went to high school in, but it's a cute and laid back town. The locally run grocery store has AMAZING doughnuts, the people in the locally owned flower store are nice, & the parks offer pleasant walking trails. Not too much goes on in Akron, and sometimes that's a good thing.
It is a nice, quiet town. There are a few really nice parks. But it would be nice if there was a Main Street with restaurants and shops close by, especially if it were within walking distance. We don’t really any restaurants or shops. You must drive to Ephrata, Lititz, Lancaster, or any other local town/city to get out and about.
