Crime & Safety
There are only few businesses in this small town, therefore, you cannot get everything you need. Stores, such as Olsens, Family Dollar, and Dollar General, are the only places where you can go grocery shopping. Although the stores are in good condition and quality, they do not sell as much merchandise as stores, like Walmart and Target in the city. There are only a few restaurants here: Pizza Hut, Estrella, and Marcella's. There is not much in this town, but you can still survive.
My main concern about Ajo is the quality of the school system and the culture that surrounds the students. The community says they want to see the kids succeed but do nothing to change the school system. In school, the students aren't being pushed hard enough and in turn not really ready for the "real world" but the people here are great. There aren't many things to do here but I really enjoy the quiet nature of this town. The view we have of the stars every night is a spectacle everyone should be able to see. It feels as if everyone is family because you get to know many of the people living here which make it a great experience. If I could do it over again I do think I would chose this place because it has great people and great scenery.
Most houses are occupied and well kept. However, most of the population only lives here during the winter and spring months.
