Airway Heights Reviews

3 reviews
Airway Heights is just 5 minutes from Fairchild Air Force Base. The town is small, but is on the rise as far as shops and housing. The Northern Quest Casino, Spokane International Airport, and the Air Force Base are all 5 minutes from the center of the town. For a small town, the restaurants are all very diverse and yummy! Sala Thai is my favorite. The grocery stores all include nice organic sections, so the pricing for healthy eaters is pretty comparable to the larger Spokane area. Also, Yoke's grocery store has a great beer and wine selection. I don't know much about younger aged schools (the high school, middle school or elementary) as I have no kids and did not grow up in the area. Spokane Falls Community College is a very nice campus and is about 15 minutes from the base, so about 10 minutes from center of Airway Heights.
Review Airway Heights
Airway Heights is a small community outside the city limits of Spokane, WA. Simple is how I would describe this small town. You will find everything you need from the public library to the favorite local coffee kiosk. Everything you need is within a few miles of your home including a Super WalMart, Grocery Outlet, Dollar Tree, and Yokes Supermarket. When you are looking for some excitement, head over to Village Center Cinemas and catch a movie or try your luck at Northern Quest Resort & Casino. Overall, Airway Heights has everything one would need to live a comfortable life outside the hustle and bustle of Spokane.
I was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington. My family and I lived in the local town of Airway Heights. The area is on a plateau outside of the Spokane area. It's a small community that was perfect for us. The Northern Quest casino and resort was a few minute walk from our house, and houses many events and celebrities that come through it to perform. The elementary school of Sunset Elementary was perfect for our son and always coordinated with us. We are trying to head back to that area. The weather is perfect. There are some days where it is sweltering but for the most part it is enjoyable, unlike the South which unfortunately, you step one foot outside and start sweating. Ha ha. I happen to love winter and yes there is a lot of snow and it gets pretty cold. I love the snow, if I don't have to be anywhere. It is not fun to drive in. Fall and Spring are gorgeous as well. I think it's the overall region of the inland Northwest that is absolutely the best place to live.
