Abbeville Reviews

Charming, historic... those were my first impressions. But having lived here for a while now, I can say that Abbeville isn't anything special. It is a very small town with nothing fun or interesting to do, unless you count the annual Spring Festival, and that is not saying much. A lot of the stores on the square have gone out of business in the past. I can see why it would appeal to retirees due to its general safety, low cost of living and quaint exterior, but that's about it. It isn't a town that attracts new revenue or ideas; very stagnant, especially for young people. Roughly a twenty minute drive from Abbeville, Greenwood is a college town that is on the rise in terms of economic growth. If you are looking for greater diversity or job opportunities, I would suggest moving there instead.
