Zimmerman High School Reviews
Rating 3.97 out of 5 114 reviews
Zimmerman is a great school! It gets bad rep for being in a small town, but everybody is great and the teachers are always willing to help. All school events are fun, especially the football games, and there is a lot of school spirit. There isn't a huge selection for classes, but there are enough classes to get what you want in an education. Something that may worry some people is that it's connected with the middle school, however, you do not see them very often as they have their own area of the school. I always feel safe when I come to school and do not feel worried about being harmed. The classrooms are just like normal classes as well as the other facilities in the school. The school just got a new auditorium and it is extremely nice. Our sports aren't the greatest, but you will be guaranteed to have fun in a loose environment if you decide to participate. Overall, Zimmerman High School is an excellent place to go to school.
Zimmerman High is a very typical small town school. As with any small town community there are pros and cons, similar to my experience from sixth grade to graduation. Very strong friendships and bonds are able to be created in a more widespread way due to small class sizes and no other schools pouring into each incoming class. In contrary with these smaller class sizes and very few incoming students it is very easy for cliques to develop and to get caught in the motions, especially with few new experiences. Overall I cherished my time at Zimmerman but am looking forward to an academic setting in a larger community.
Zimmerman had a good range of friendly and engaging teachers that more often then not made learning worthwhile. Unfortunately, some teachers were not that effective and many of the extracurricular funds were dedicated to sports activities over many others arguably more deserving. Additionally, some of the events were poorly planned or managed and sometimes teacher-student cooperation was not easily done. However, more often than not, class was enjoyable, events functioned well and the school overall was effective.
