Young Women's Preparatory Academy is a school in which you are made to excel in the most ways possible. Throughout my years at this school, I have learned the meaning of determination and responsibility, being able to work hard to achieve many goals. I enjoyed how talking to teachers on a one-to-one basis was very accessible and available to me at almost any time, and most of them are there to help you. Though it is quite rigorous to say the least, I also understand that it is for the best, as they want you to feel confident in yourself and want you surpass in a myriad of ways, more than you ever thought possible. Young Women's Preparatory has taught me the skills I would require when moving up to higher levels of education, and I am quite thankful for that; I learned how to be diligent in my work, as well as being able to present myself as the individual that I am. I can say that my experience has been one of challenge and resolve, and one that is now helping me towards my end goal.

Because it’s a small middle/high school, it’s both a blessing and a curse. Because the school is small, student don’t get many electives and hardly have any fun activities. However, students are able to develop a close relationship with teachers, and have better access to their teachers. The classes tend to push students to be their best with the help of well trained teachers, but there are occasions where students stress a lot because of the pressure that other classes cause and the lack of fun activities/clubs. Other than that I seriously recommend the school to any student who wants to excel academically.
Young Women's Preparatory Academy is more than a school. It is a family and an inspiring community. I really came out of my shell at this facility with nurturing teachers who had extensive knowledge of materials and amazing friends. The small classes allow the teachers to form excellent relations with the students and the students really feel at home. When a teacher knows every student and can distinguishes everyone's strengths and weaknesses, the learning environment is amplified to one of care and comfort as well as rigorous and challenging. Being single gender also has significant benefits as it has truly allowed me to become proud with having a voice. The environment makes one fearless of being the best. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Young Women's Preparatory Academy and it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend a public single gender school.
