Young Women's College Preparatory Academy is a wonderful school academically and socially. Although their school work is tough, they do prepare you for college. The courses you take are already preparing you for the next grade so you won't fall behind. Alumni's who come back to school to tell their college experience says that being at YWCPA, really prepared them. Young Women's is an all-girl STEM school, which requires uniforms. Besides the uniforms, there is nothing I would change. It is a small school, so you will have great connections with the teachers and staff. I highly recommend coming to this school.

What I like about Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy is the encouragement we young women receive to pursue careers in STEM-related fields. Although that is encouraged, YWCPA also allows its students to express their desire for other careers, such as music, art, or history. Students are also given many opportunities that other schools may not offer. For example, many students are told about available internships, externships, competitions, etc., all of which benefit the student in some way.
Well, I honestly do love this school. It is centered around the STEM curriculum and gives more opportunities than many other high schools in my city. According to our curriculum, those at Young Women's would graduate with about 35 or more credits, 8 more credits than needed to graduate from any other high school. 4 to 6 of our credits come from Engineering, and they kind of push us to get those credits because many of the new-aged jobs would value an engineering degree.
For me, I want to be a Psychiatrist and a Veterinary. There are engineering degrees for Veterinary Sciences and almost anything, so with the engineering background I will have should get me farther in my future career.
This school, though unnecessary at times, is great. You get to make a new family and so many friendships. Young Women's, while only being there for 2 years, is cool and sort of fun.
