I liked the brotherhood and the family concept of YMLA. The changes I would make are solely based off the district itself. The district, doesn't mind using our school and students as the poster child for excellence, but they don't invest or care about what happens to the school. We the students had and have to continue fight for YMLA and fight for equality in opportunity and fairness.

It is a lovely school that young men should consider. The teachers care about you more and build a personal bond with them. The people here are very welcoming and caring. They will take time out of their own days just to help you succeed. The students here will make sure you're on the right track. They'll tutor you on a topic or problem you're having trouble with. With the limited amount of resources we have, we do so much. Top 5 in almost every STAAR category in the district. I love it here that it will be difficult to leave if you want to.
My experience is very good at this school. Although its an all boy school, it has a lot to offer. I been here since sixth grade and I have enjoyed every year. The facility makes learning fun by competition which brings the best out of me. This school not only taught me subjects but it also taught me about myself and showed me what the college life really about. This school main focus is college and I feel very prepared to go. Not only the learning is fun but the other scholars our to or what we refer to them as brothers. We all care for each other and treat each other as real brothers and no one is left out.
