Young Americans Christian School Reviews

Young Americans Christian School (later referred to as "YACS") lives up to its advertisement of college preparation. Education is general, but it is centered around the Christian worldview. YACS is a pretty small school (my graduating class had around 45 people in it), so it falls behind in some categories, including clubs and activities, sports, and electives. The school lacks "class" diversity, which may be a consequence of the price. During my stint at YACS (7th-12th grade), I made good relationships with teachers and staff, served in various capacities, and learned a lot from the underlying culture. For those able to afford private education, I recommend considering this unique and effective school.

My experience with Young Americans Christian School has been very good. I have been enrolled at YACS for thirteen years now; I have gone there since kindergarten. The teachers, those who have and have not taught me, are always willing to help us students prosper and will set aside time out of their breaks during the day to help. There is a good range of sports and clubs to be involved in like sports teams, academic clubs, and drama/arts. In my opinion, the best part about being at YACS is spiritual guidance and chapels on Wednesdays and Fridays. Chapel days are powerful and if needed we can go up to administrators and teachers and talk about spiritual issues or wanting to further the walk with Christ.
I graduated from the Young Americans Christian School three days ago. I was enrolled from YACS from first grade until graduation. During this time, YACS has changed dramatically. YACS has a great education taught by good teachers. They have a number of academic extracurriculars such as quiz bowl, Spanish club, robotics club, and more. They also have conventional sports a school would have like soccer, basketball, volleyball, football, and baseball. For being a relatively small school, YACS does its best to have plenty of opportunities for its students. They are starting to shift from AP classes to dual enrollment through Point University. This change decreases the quality of education, but it does allow for a much higher chance of college credit.
