This is my second year studying at this school and so far my experience has been amazing. Because I’m an international student, I was really afraid of not being accepted/treated badly. For my luck, this did not happen. Everybody treats me well and I can count on my friends/school staff when I need help.
Some things that might be considered bad but weren’t a problem to me: there is no space for sports, most of the learning is through the computer (of course there’s always a teacher to help you in case you need it) and the school is really small (<200)
I think that Yorktown prepares the students really well for college, since the school is really small the teachers can give more time and attention for those who need it.
In my opinion one of the most interesting things about this school is how involved the staff is with personalized teaching. It’s a great school for those who have trouble learning. The teachers are wonderful and they really helped me with my adaptation in the US

We moved from another country and I was afraid about my daughter's school adaptation, but she was very well received by the staff and new friends, we've just loved Yorktown and for the first time I can see her going happily to school. Students are friendly, teachers are amazing and my daughter can move forward at her own pace, she doesn't need to wait for the rest of class. I'm glad to see that she can help other students in their necessities and the students help her. She is at High School and already taking classes at Collin College. I strongly recommend Yorktown if your child likes challenges and is self-motivated.
My experience with Yorktown has been amazing. I am a gifted student, so the material offered by the school goes above and beyond by challenging me. Yorktown Education is academically focused, but that doesn't mean that its not the fit for you. As well, the school is very flexible - I know people who leave at noon every day for sports practice and such. In middle school and high school, the school follows a college-like schedule so that students have a feel for what college can be like. Yorktown Education also offers dual credit opportunities with Collin College. The school has become a second home to me and I couldn't be happier with what the school offers.
