Wow! I am really sad to read the review at the bottom of this page. My children have attended York Country Day School since they were 2 years old. This is the BEST environment for a loving, caring, and safe education. My older daughter is very bright and the school has provided her with her own individualized education plan. She works in enrichment groups, while maintaining relationships with the peers in her class. Both of my children feel as if York Country Day is their second home. They have relationships with the middle and upper schoolers, who care about them genuinely;by always providing a helping hand. The teachers at this school are beyond amazing. They go the extra mile to help each child become successful academically, socially, and emotionally. The administration is also very quick to respond to any concerns that I have had. If you are looking for a fabulous independent school, then this school is for you!

My children are very intelligent and like a challenge. I love to see them stretch, academically, athletically, musically etc. This school fits the bill for me. Has a nice family/community feel, great STEAM focus, new building with wonderful spaces. Truly feels more like a hip college campus! In particular, my kids enjoy the digital arts, robotics and French. I love seeing them learn through cool projects and really figure out how to apply skills. My kids find that their teachers respond quickly to emails when they have an issue, even at night and on the weekends. They seem to feel that their teachers are easy to approach and engaging in class. My spouse and I enjoy the candor and passion the teachers share with us as parents. While tuition is high for York, my money is extremely well spent on one thing that really matters to me, the future.
Great small community, people are super nice and its just a general good environment to be in. They have a lot of opportunities for robotics and theater. Sports wise, basketball is the only good sport we have but its been really good the past few years. Academics wise, they don't offer APs which is a downside, but you get free classes at York College of PA as part of your normal classes which allows to explore a lot and is really good. I loved YCDS and it was a good choice for me.
