York Catholic High School offers rigorous AP and Honors courses that may even be considered harder than college. Students are readily prepared for the future and are supported by community service hours and student activities. The religious aspect is prominent through monthly Masses, religion courses, and daily prayer, but a student is not required to be Catholic to go here. The main problem with York Catholic is the lack of variety in courses. Business and computer classes have been added, but the school has to make up for other courses through online virtual classes and a partnership with York Tech. These offer classes like welding and even forensic science. The building was also newly renovated, and the new classrooms look great! Music and art suffer here in favor of sports. Stage is old and band pit is constantly flooded. Plans to renovate music and arts section of school is planned, but should have been sooner.
If you are searching for a school that provides each student with a top college level education and also provides an environment that promotes service, morals, Catholic values, and a faculty that welcomes your family with open arms.. YC is that school! As an alumni and current parent of a senior , what YC provided myself and our son wasn’t just a building made of bricks but a family of educators, staff, coaches, and administrators who reminded us that each student is an individual and special to the school. It is truly a family, people that show constant support, compassion, and love of teaching! You will NEVER regret the investment in a YC education. You only have one opportunity with your child’s education make it one that will put your child on the road to success as a student, athlete, and child of God. The people at YC are what make it such a strong place of value!
York Catholic really prioritizes discipline over academic gain, and I have been here for 4 years. I hope you don't care about mental health when you choose to go to this school!
