Yinghua Academy Reviews

This school is amazing - the teachers, administrators, and students. My son has been attending for 6 years. It is very structured - and can seem overwhelming (imagine being spoken to all day in a foreign language)! But, my son is happy. I think the teachers have high expectations, but are very nurturing and they provide additional help if the student is struggling academically (I know from personal experience). I am so impressed by the dedication of the teachers - they are always available and willing to communicate and partner on plans specific to individual students. With any immersion program, the first couple years are a struggle, as students may fall behind mainstream schools - however, by 5th grade, my son is scoring well above average. I highly recommend this school.
We love Yinghua! I have a 5th grader and a Kindergartner at Yinghua. We all feel fully supported academically at this school. Staff is very easy to reach and communication is very open. The academics can be rigorous but this is what our family is looking for educationally. We also appreciate the very honest introduction to Chinese culture through music and dance.
Our family has members who have completed other Immersion programs and we find Yinghua to be superior in almost every way. From the Bus ride in the morning we feel like our children are in good hands. The structure of the school allows our family to focus on our lives without additional worries about school during the pandemic also.

My kids reached advanced levels of speaking Mandarin. The school isn’t perfect but which school is. Supportive generous involved parent community. The teachers & staff are big cheerleaders. Overall positive experience. It’s not for everyone. It takes the whole family to be on board w/full immersion education. The homework load can be a bit much at times but not all the time. They have a fabulous PE art & music departments, I don’t think you could match anywhere elsewhere. My kids received special education services because of their ADHD dyslexia & dysgraphia. They got all the supports they needed because they work really well with students & families to get the kids what they need. Yinghua really prepares all students for the future in higher education. My children who are currently in high school are thriving because of the foundation that Yinghua laid for them. We are very thankful for this unique opportunity that they were able to have & wouldn’t trade it for the world.
