Ygnacio valley high school is a very safe school, there is only one exit which is the entrance, there are two academys you can join which include the education academy which focuses on learning about child development and how to teach, this academy has the title of a lighthouse academy from the state, and the health academy which focuses on learning about nursing and the medical field, you get CPR certified and get to volunteer at hospitals for experience. Ygnacio Vally's special ed department is very structured and organized. the sport department gets much more attention compared to other areas of the school. There are programs for upcoming freshman to get comfortable, we have after school activities, and many volunteering opportunities at fundraising events and school events.

My experience at Ygnacio Valley is really good, I enjoy being in a diverse environment. What I like about Ygnacio Valley is the IB Program that they have, the IB program consist of classes such as the AP but more complex, our school is the only one that has it in the district. Being a full diploma of IB has gave me the opportunity to prepare myself for collage and develop my educational skills, the IB program is one of the amazing programs that Ygnacio Valley has. I also enjoy getting the chance to meet people around the world, the good thing at Ygnacio Valley is the diversity, there are people from Mexico, El Salvador, South Korea, Spain, Brazil, etc. Every 5 years they have a multicultural rally and I had the opportunity to be part of it, it was really wonderful seeing people representing their culture.
Ygnacio Valley High School is a school that has its pros and cons but it's a school that is decent and has redeeming qualities. The teachers that I met and encountered with are motivational, engaging, and helpful as they want their students to succeed and pass their classes. The programs that YV has such as the Health Academy, Education Academy and AVID are great programs that helps students focus on their grades, career building, and prepare them for college. Most of the sports teams are good and fun to join and they are worth to try. They have some great clubs that students can join such as the Interact Club where students can meet each other and do activities. I would also say that the classes are interesting and cool. The school has a lot of diversity and as a student there are good people to meet. The school have some flaws but overall it's a decent school.
