The thing that drew me to the early college the most was the family atmosphere everyone said they had. When I was in 8th grade, it was really important to me that the teachers were going to care about not only my education but myself as a person at whatever high school I attended. Another thing that drew me to the early college was the incredible opportunity that is offered there. If one chooses to do so, one can earn their high school diploma and associate's degree in a five year period at no cost. Many of my friends attending Surry Community College are taking the same classes I am, but having to pay money to take them whereas I haven't had to pay a single thing.
I absolutely love attending the Yadkin Early College! The teachers are amazing. They're friendly, kind, generous, and they love teaching and they do their absolute best to help you.
The Early College is a great school for those who have their future in mind. The staff are very friendly and welcoming to the students, especially the freshmen who are entering a new environment.
In terms of academics and college readiness, our school excels. You take college courses while you're in high school. Not only does this prepare you for going to a university, but it also helps you earn an Associate Degree by the time you graduate. We also have a new building for college classes. This building has an extra computer lab and some Biology/Chemistry labs. Overall, the facilities are great.
Sports are limited, at the moment we only have a soccer team. But, I'm sure that will change in the future, seeing how the school has been around for less than a decade.
