Propel Schools
About
Innovative, scholar-centered learning is what sets Propel's 13 public charter schools apart. Propel sets a standard for creating productive citizens by prioritizing academic excellence and fundamental life skills. Based in Pittsburgh, Propel serves 4,000 scholars and has become one of the largest, charter school systems in Pennsylvania since it was established in 2003. Our K-2 Reading Initiative ensures that every Propel scholar is reading at or above grade level by the time they graduate from second grade. Our free, award-winning Afterschool Program provides additional learning, support and meals. In high school, scholars interested in Career Pathways can earn up to 31 college credits, free of charge. Our competitive Propel Performing Arts Academy provides an outlet for creative scholars to shine. The Propel Schools Foundation also offers thousands of dollars in college scholarships to graduating seniors. At Propel, our educators redefine school while our scholars defy expectations!
