I find DuTemple to be mediocre at best. So far we've had great teachers who seem to genuinely care about the students. If I have concerns they get back to me right away. Diversity is fantastic, which is important to my family, so that's certainly a positive, but what brings the score dramatically down for me is Principal Magnelli. She has failed to bring important information to the parents attention. I've witnessed her have an unpleasant demeanor with students on multiple occasions and I don't think she cares about the legitimate concerns from parents regarding the safety of the school and students. I don't think she is the right fit for elementary level school. I've talked to parents at other schools and they rave about their principals and it makes me disappointed that DuTemple students aren't getting that same experience. To be honest, if I could change my kids school district, I would in a heartbeat.

The principal is not very professional, the office staff are rude, and my children don't receive appropriate help in the classroom.
They give so much homework, my child doesn't finish until 7pm sometimes. Some parents I know even do the homework for their children just so they'd pass.
