Worcester Technical High School Reviews

Overall, I enjoyed attending Worcester Technical High School and having the opportunity to be exposed to the various trades and possible career paths that I could take. I think this school had a good amount of shop options that everyone could find something they were interested in. I found the schedule created a nice balance between shop week and academic week because you always had shop week to look forward to. Attending Worcester Technical High School enabled me to make the decision to attend Lincoln Technical Institute to further my education in Collision Repair.
I am a Junior at Worcester Tech and so far, I love it here! It's a very unique experience that other high schools don't offer. If you choose the right shop, you will have a great time here because you are focusing on something you are passionate about for half the school year! some shops might even get you certified so you can get a good job right out of high school. For example, if you choose Allied health, you might graduate with a CNA, and if you choose Cosmetology, you might graduate as a licensed cosmetologist. The teachers are great and understanding and there are many clubs and after-school programs. If you are struggling academically, there are so many opportunities for extra help like morning homework help, after-school extra help, and after-school homework club. There are many fun clubs after school as well like BSU, Model UN, drama club, and more. Highly recommend! great for college and also for people who don't want to go to college.
I enjoyed the level of professionalism and competency of curriculum in the vocational classes. I also enjoyed the wide variety of both vocational and academic classes offered. One thing I did not like was the way that remote learning was handled. It was a hard time for everyone, but many teachers did not put in the effort to teach effectively and keep up with their students. Also, the tardy policy is strange. If you are tardy 3 times, you get a detention. It seems a little excessive to me, I received multiple detentions because of this rule, and most of the time I was only 5-10 minutes late due to transportation issues.
