Worcester Preparatory School Reviews
Rating 4.18 out of 5 50 reviews
Worcester Prep is a beloved educational institution that offers students a comprehensive and fulfilling learning experience. One of the standout features of this school is its commitment to maintaining small class sizes, allowing for more personalized attention and engagement between students and faculty. Worcester Prep is known for attracting some of the most talented and dedicated educators in the region, who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their classrooms. The student body at Worcester Prep is equally impressive, representing a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures. This fosters a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that prepares students for success in the real world. Finally, WPS has a strong and active alumni community, which offers ongoing support and opportunities for engagement long after graduation. All of these factors come together to make WPS a truly special place to get a world-class education and a lifelong connection to the school.
We transferred our daughters from another local private school. It has been one of the best parenting decisions we have made. Having experienced unaddressed bullying in our previous school, it is refreshing to not have that problem here. Our oldest daughter graduated and now attends Syracuse University. She feels well prepared for college, both academically and socially. The teachers at WPS are very caring about their students, and want them to succeed. My daughter participates in a sport outside of school, and her teachers work with her make sure she doesn't fall behind when she misses school. Our athletic teams are very competitive and there are many options. There is a lot of school spirit at WPS! Also radio, photography, school plays, chorus, band, mock trial, newspaper, etc. So many more options that other schools in the area. WPS is definitely a college prep school, and not all students are college bound. I highly recommend Worcester Preparatory School.
I love the atmosphere at Worcester but many of the techniques that the teachers use are outdated. I wish that my teachers focused a little bit more on appealing to all of the learning types. A number of them focus more on auditory and just repetition. Also they have college counseling but that still doesn’t prepare you for the real world. I wish they had a life skills class. I also know that several sports are unavailable to middle school that seem slightly unreasonable for example the track team is high school only. Finally the administration is in constant turmoil with teachers being removed replaced and shifted around every year it gets confusing. But I absolutely love the environment and their teaching what you need to know. Every few years they’ve given major upgrades and the facilities are incredible. The community is small which is part of the reason why I feel safe there and they’re not gonna let anyone in that they don’t recognize and everybody recognizes everybody.
