My son like all children, was born with a “love of learning”. As Brayan started progressing in the school district, he became bored, complacent, and restless. His “love of learning” quickly deteriorated and began to manifest as behavioral issues that included acting out and apathy toward learning.
The solution was simple. We found Wooster, a school that challenged him enough to feed his “love of learning”, acknowledge his individuality, and guide him to “do the right thing”.
Our experience at Wooster has been exceptional. The teachers are truly invested in my child’s education and his growth as learner. Adjustments are made as needed to meet the needs of the student. Small class sizes and leveled learning have enabled my children to gain confidence in their learning abilities.

I expected that my children would get a good education at Wooster, but what sets it apart from other schools is the additional focus on the individual students. They make a point to get to know the kids, and seem to appreciate and respect the unique qualities each of them possess. After the Fall and Winter semesters there are Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences. The student takes the lead on these conferences, and parents get to hear what they've been doing and see another side of them. Report cards are also really enlightening, as each teacher includes a detailed, insightful synopsis of your child. This is truly a delight. Remember, we're talking about HIGH SCHOOL. The college guidance so far has been top-notch. They want to help your child find the best fit in a college, and dig really deeply to figure out what that may be. Wooster is not only a school, but a community, and it's extremely warm and welcoming. We are really happy that we chose to send our children there.
Wooster is a great place to go to school, but first you have to make sure it's the right fit for you. The type of person that thrives here the most is someone who challenges themselves (it's easy to slack off, but you can go really far if you do challenge yourself), is curious/passionate/prefers specialized courses over 101s, wants/needs a collaborative environment, and prefers discussion and project based classes over lecture and test ones. There is also a large portion of students with learning differences here because it works especially well for us (whether you need the bridge program or not), and most of the students transferred from other schools at the beginning or 9th or 10th grade (midyear and post-sophomore transfers are not uncommon though). A problem that annoys all of us is how they use their budget on trivial things and don't ask students and teachers what we really need.
