It was a great school with awesome teachers and many after-school activities! They offer many different levels of education for those a bit more advanced or in need of a bit more help. It is located next to a park where you can play, fish, hike, ride a bike, and more. The school bathrooms are genuinely crowded during lunch hours. A wide array of faculty and students are from around the globe. You are able to take classes offered in the school as well as courses not offered through an online website. Woonsocket high school has a career center dedicated to nursing, art and design, engineering, cooking, and more. When it is time for lunch, you have many meals to choose from. There are many tables and a small store where you can purchase an extra drink or snack. Lockers are available for any student that may need them and include a locker combination that only the faculty, you, and those you trust will know. It was a fun experience where I frolicked with people from different cultures!
I list the above score because while the teachers (at least my teachers) are great, hard working and honest people, I see the main issue being the majority of student behavior. The teachers and staff work hard to try and keep things under control, however I'd say roughly 68% of students bring a negative impact. Most of the time they'll either disrupt the classes, start fights & just last week, a majority of the seniors played beer pong with eggs on the stairwell connecting the Ground floor to the upper classrooms.
This school has a lot of potential to be better, it’s just it lacks the correct disipline and spirit. There simply is none. Kids get excited to be in “facts” or “ISS” .. that isn’t how it’s supposed to be. And as in a lot of schools the students who actually want to better themselves and take advantage of the many resources cannot. I am an ILP ambassador at the Woonsocket High School and I can guarantee that not one person knows about this program and how much it can actually benefit many. The administration is tired and you can tell, the only way to truly get peers to care about their grades is if they are passionate about a sport, it shouldn’t be that way.
