Woodland Hills has gone through a decades long transformation. It is a district that grew out of a federally mandated merger of several contiguous districts in the early 1980's. It is likely the most socially diverse district of western PA.
Woody High truly depicts life as it really is. It's a melting pot of students from all backgrounds. The district and the high school have new administration and they have done a phenomenal job at calming the school environment and bringing stability to the district. It is becoming a strong knit community of students/families. It has seen its share of sadness as several students have fallen to gun violence. That said, one thing is abundantly clear. Kids are very, very safe in school. Teachers love teaching there and are committed to making a difference in the lives of kids, some of whom have no true sense of family outside of the school setting. They are making a difference and it shows.
By the way, their drama department is second to none!

Woodland Hills truly feels like a family. It feels great to wear black and teal and chant “W-DOUBLE O-D-Y! WOODY HIGH!” I’ve met many of the best people in my life while going to Woodland Hills. Many of the teachers are passionate and feel like real people that you can talk to. Our current principal, Dr. Woods, has done a great job of reinvigorating school spirit and positivity. There’s a wide range of extracurricular activities that all have many successes. Dr. Damico is excellent at helping students prepare for college. I’ve truly enjoyed all my years at Woodland Hills.
Our high school has provided my kids with an huge variety of opportunities in terms of academics, music, performing arts, visual arts, athletics, clubs, and social justice initiatives. The teachers and staff are amazing and our principal has been instrumental in changes that continue to improve and enhance our high school. The Woodland Hills student body is incredibly diverse and close knit and allows students, teachers, and families the chance to work together for their school community.
