Just rating the school as a building, it's nothing special. Just another late 90s high-school with ultimately nothing separating it from the hundreds of other high-schools.
That would be a disservice.
As a community, it really stands out. During my four years there, there were two separate principals and two different superintendents. All of them were wonderful and put all they could into making Woodland feel like a community, rather than just a school. All of the teachers share this same energy and always made classes more open and enjoyable. It never felt like we were just learning from textbooks or worksheets, rather, we learned as a community, with the lessons suiting the class, not just a rigid lesson plan.

Woodland High School was a great school. The teachers were wonderful and made sure you understood and learned from all materials taught. Along with this, they made sure that school was fun for their students. Administrators built connections with students as well. I participated on the softball team and had a blast. I created numerous friendships with other students and teachers. It was overall a great experience.
Woodland is an amazing school. For the most part, the teachers are smart when it comes to their teaching techniques. For instance, in honors classes, they teach strategies that will prepare students for AP classes if they choose to take that path. Although Woodland is an amazing school, their is always room for improvement. In my opinion, Woodland should improve their choice in councilors. From my personal experience, the Woodland councilors are only their to get paid. They never actually help when it comes to questions about what classes to take to be prepared for college or overall anything that has to do with college, which is what they are suppose to be their for. So far I have had an amazing experience at Woodland High School and I believe it is one of the best schools in the Bartow area.
