Woodland High School Reviews
Rating 3.5 out of 5 254 reviews
I've enjoyed the rigorous courses being offered at Woodland, and the ability to be enrolled in a Magnet Program focused on medical studies. I've been able to excel in my courses due to my opportunistic and understanding teachers. However, I do wish that Woodland High School took more responsibility when it came to keeping our student community safe. There is a lack of action against people who vandalize, or a caught carrying contraband items like tobacco products. This has caused for an unsafe learning environment for many, and has also limited other student's abilities to be successful.
Woodland… where do I even begin to talk about Woodland. I’m going into my junior year and I don’t think I would prefer to do it somewhere else. Woodland truly has set me up for success! Not only has Woodland had open arms for me and every other student who has attended but woodland has made it their job to put us first! From a nice smile in the hallway to getting us ready to graduate. One thing that I love about woodland is how soon it prepares you for the rest of your life. Woodland makes it their priority to always keep us ready for what’s coming next, whether that be the next grade or the start of our life. My mom always asks me when I come home “So how’s Woodland treating you” ? My response has NEVER changed… I always smile and say “It’s my home”. I’ve never been more proud to be a Woodland wildcat, the administration truly care about what happens to us and that inspires me and every other student to be on our very best behavior.
I often speak very highly of Woodland High School's rigorous academics and dedicated teachers- it is extremely clear a majority of the teachers deeply care about their students' academic performance and personal wellbeing. However, the fine arts programs are often neglected in funding and not considered when scheduling events despite how talented, passionate, and dedicated these students are. Additionally, the campus is not upkept very well- we are making attempts to change this with campus cleanup days through the year, but its always expected for there to be no paper towels in the PAC and trash in the grass or on trees.
