A lot of the staff seems like they don't even want to be there. The teachers are lazy and during the whole online/virtual schooling crisis I had several issues with teachers not participating in helping me with assignments. The school itself has never been clean and is actually rather disgusting for public school sake. There are a lot of good people that are nice and easy to connect with, but also lots that are snobby and arrogant. Overall you can tell they try their best, but it was not my best experience with a public school
The teachers for the most part are good, and other than the receptionist the guidance department is full of great people. The student body, on the other hand, is very close minded and unaccepting, and I’ve watched the school do nothing about it. My time here has only been bearable because I found a few close friends. This school is hell for anyone who is not a straight white conservative man.
Woodlan prepared me for college more than I could imagine. The teachers always cared and made an effort to see you succeed. Based in a somewhat rural community I always felt safe when going to school. While it is still a public school, the atmosphere was pleasant with amazing and caring students. It is unlike many public schools in the area. Extracurriculars are important to this school, and coaches help athletes to grow as a person by establishing teamwork and leadership. I feel thankful that I was able to complete my high school career at Woodlan.
