Throughout my four years at Wirt County High School, I have noticed some good and bad things. I enjoy some of the attempts to get kids involved. However, because of the small number of students, it is difficult to get them involved. Many teachers are not helpful in preparing students for college. Most teachers are lenient, but some are very helpful. I like how close everyone is. Students and teachers have good relationships with each other. Overall, education priorities need evaluated, but the students have the opportunity to make close relationships with each other.
I had an enjoyable 4 years at this high school. Most teachers are very involved with you, and care about your success. They wish to see you graduate just as much as you should! The classes are entertaining and the staff is very friendly. The students are outgoing to lost underclassmen, and always encourage them in sports. This high school is very sport oriented with multiple State Championships in Volleyball and Wrestling, and multiple state placers in Track. The FFA program is also very hands on due to the farming done throughout the county. I was very lucky to receive my education at a school that cared about my success! If I could change one thing, it would have to be seeing more teachers becoming engaged with the material they plan to teach.
My experience attending Wirt County High, has been great I have made life-long connections with friends and the staff are sure to provide the students with a future that pertains to them.
