Winthrop Charter School Reviews

I graduated from Winthrop Charter back in 2014 with a lot of mixed feelings. For starters the school lunch is horrible and sometimes isn't even edible. The principal is very nice but will remove you from the school immediately if you are a troublemaker, he doesn't play any games! Sports here are very picky on who they want on their team and a lot of people were competitive. Unfortunately this school is good to keep you away from the other bad public middle schools in this county but will not prepare you for high school, it was kind of rough for me to transition from 8th to 9th grade back into the regular public schools. I can guarantee there are no fights here, only had 3 fights all 3 years here. But the school tends to restaff teachers every few months which kind delays you in education. Sometimes the teachers they hire are first time teachers and don't know what to do sometimes. In the end I made good memories here and managed to get my act together and pull up my grades.

My daughter goes to Winthrop. They work the students. A majority of the parents are involved. Love this school!!!
Horrible, the faculty unfairly discipline students who are being bullied and never try to rectify any issues nor agreed to conferences. Teachers do not follow or provide positive feedback regarding the students.
