I liked how there were many groups/clubs to join where you could possibly feel comfortable in ad the team members I played with during volleyball season. But some work needs to be done in Winters Mill especially when it comes to racism. It's not just in Winters Mill but in Carroll County as a whole.
I liked that teachers seemed to care about their students. Some of the other students I did not like but that Is not the schools fault.
If you're white then it's probably a good school to go with if you don't care about school or sports, but if you're any other ethnicity then you will not enjoy being there. Very closeted racist atmosphere with teachers that don't know how to teach outside of the curriculum.
Almost all the staff are extremely nice and accepting. They truly care about the students and employees.
Winters Mill gave me many opportunities to create new relationships in my life, through sports and other activities.
I was cyberbullied for 2 years and the fellow students are not the nicest. I have met some of the best teachers there however and as most people aren't friendly, my group of friends were so it made me four years less miserable.
Winters Mill High School is a great school. It has its flaws like all schools but overall it is a great place to be. It has excellent teachers and staff that help everyone as much as they can. Our sports teams could definitely improve, but from what I have experienced the coaches are great and understanding. Academics come before sports, and mental health comes before everything. WMHS staff cares a lot about each students mental health and understands that we are living in very challenging times.
Everything, they had very positive staff and all students were very nice and got along. School environment was extremely positive
some of the teachers are nice had to help you. some of the teachers will help you and some of the teachers will not help you so it is not the best but it is ok for right now but if there is a better school I would go there. when i got to the school they say i was 10 grade but i did 12 grade work in tmy last year school
The Winters Mill faculty is fantastic! The teachers are effective at teaching content and life lessons. The building is clean and easy to navigate. The student body does lack diversity and school spirit.
Staff works well with students trying to get them to be the best they can be. Teachers are willing to help students succeed. Teachers work with students and make them better people, while preparing them for college.
It's a smaller school compared to others in the area. The cheer team is not the greatest. I do like a lot of my teachers though. I was able to graduate early, do dual enrollment, and start college in the spring of my senior year so the counselors are helpful.
It was okay some teachers didn’t care as much or weren’t willing to help and they only favored certain sports. Often I could not get in with guidance counselors or I would make an appointment and the wouldn’t actually meet me they would go to lunch instead.
It’s a wonderful community and most of the teachers are amazing!! There are lots of great programs in the school, something for everyone. Sports could be better but not something I personally am concerned about
Winters Mill was a good school in terms of academics and extracurriculars. There was a wide variety of classes a student could take that appealed to their specific career interests. In addition, Winters Mill offered numerous programs which allowed students to go out and complete internships with other real world employees depending on the field such as elementary school teachers and local veterinarians. The social environment was welcoming, but I wish some of the employees would become more familiar with the students. This would further ensure that the students could feel comfortable and see these adults as someone they could go to if a situation were to arise where intervention by a trusted adult was necessary.
Safe learning environment, with teachers and administrators to help with whatever you needed. Provided plenty of extra-curricular activities to be a part of. The goal was always to prepare students for their future.
The schol itself is pretty decent with its choice of teachers and the amount of effort made to make everyone feel included. The only huge complaint that I have is that the teaching styles of each teacher don't cater to everyone, menaing that many people have to teach themselves material that they don't understand to begin with.
