Churchill HS is a very competitive high school. This is good because it prepares students for college, and arms students with good problem-solving and communication skills. On the downside, this also creates a stressful culture where everybody has high expectations regarding grades, extracurriculars, and college acceptance. However, students are working incessantly to reduce this stress culture and create a strong support system for those who need one. In terms of resources, Churchill has an excellent media center, excellent teachers (for the most part), and a wide variety of clubs, sports, and arts programs to participate in. For all its flaws and slightly stressful environment, I love Churchill HS for all that it has helped me learn and grow, and for the incredible students and teachers I have met here.

Overall, Churchill has a great academic atmosphere. Though rigorous, it will push students to think in a way that will better prepare them for college. Most teachers were knowledgeable and professional about their subjects, and loved to help students outside of class. In terms of departments, the music department was what hit home for me. The teachers and students have a unique relationship that makes the school much more enjoyable. Had I not been a part of that department, I would have had a completely different high school experience.
Socially, Churchill was not the easiest. Students tend to be quite cliquey and lacking in the "friendliness" department. It takes a bit of work to find your group, but once you do, it makes school that much better. Should you need any help, however, the staff provides excellent resources to get you through your time at Churchill and prepare you for college.
My experience at Winston Churchill has been atypical to say the least. The administration of Churchill constantly denies the presence of our rowing team, even though we bring home state championship trophies constantly along with getting kids recruited to D1 and Ivy League schools. Though they are out of touch to say the least, our principal has just retired, and I hope the one stepping in realizes how important each student and organization is to creating Churchill as a whole, not what they choose to see.
