Winnfield Senior High School has been a very positive learning environment for me. The school staff has always been willing to help me in any kind of way needed including preparation for college. Students from surrounding schools have been continually transferring to Winnfield Senior High due too academic availabilities that other schools do not offer. I would recommend any student to attend WINNFIELD SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL!
My experience as a student at Winnfield Senior High School hasn't been the best but it also hasn't been terrible. The teachers are really good at their jobs and the never leave a student behind. The classrooms are ok, but we really need to get new books. We only have a choice of five sports at our school, nothing really out of the ordinary sports that most every schools have. We don't have a big variety in classes beside the required ones. The food is always bad, but is is still food. The music and arts program is the worst because the school doesn't fund them, they give the majority of the money to the football team. They don't really support this program and have been trying to shut it down for years. Getting my education at this school wasn't the best experience, but I still got a decent education.
This school pays more attention and money to athletics rather than academics. If you are not involved in football, cheer, or dance you are hardly recognized until the school puts pressure on us to make excellent scores on state tests to gain the school points. Most of the teachers have left to find better pay leaving us with hardly any quality education. In my opinion the school needs to open their eyes and treat all students with the same respect and start putting their money into teachers and activities that will boost all the student body.
