It's a very diverse school, you feel safe and you get along with most of the students and teachers. The teachers focus on the importance of difference of options for learning.
Although Windsor High School has had is fair share of administration issues, I can say that overall the high school has prepared my student well for college or life after high school. The core programs they offer are great. Sports have had challenges with faculty and administration issues as well but most have a good experience within the sports departments. Communication is great. Counseling Department can be improved a bit with more individual focus and guidance. Overall its been a mixture of experience with each of my kids but in the end my kids are proud to be a part of Windsor High.
I'm pretty happy with experience at Windsor High School so far. There are plenty of opportunities if you are looking for them, and the Core system is a good way to focus learning before college. Really your experience at WHS is what you make it.
Windsor definitely needs a better math department. They lack quality teachers and the understanding to adequately meet college standards. The language departments also struggle to develop an understanding deep enough to translate to the students. The counseling staff is uninvolved, and the student advisors are difficult to find and work with. The higher-level teachers are amazing, but the average teachers for “dumber” students are lazy and don’t meet the standard for educating unmotivated students.
I enjoyed the atmosphere at Windsor, everyone was very friendly. In class we could engage in civil debated over important issues, and afterwards we could still be friendly with one another, despite our disagreements.
Windsor high school is an amazing school for kids who are excited to learn. The staff and students are all really encouraging and make learning a safe place and a fun one. They really encourage students to express themselves through art and still making it fun.
The thing that drew me to attending this school as an inter-district transfer student, was the implemented core system. This system allows children to chose their desired learning area, which can be applicable to their future career ideas, which in turn allows students to have real life fieldwork experiences.
It’s a huge campus that is welcoming and beautiful. All the teachers are nice and it’s amazing because we have a core system where you get to pick your focus they specializes in something. For instance, we have 9-10 cores like : Exercise Science, which is about focusing on health, fitness, and the body , which is like a stepping stool for our 11-12 Pre med core , where we take what we learned there and apply it to focus on our passion for medicine and what not
I loved that fact that the teachers really cared about more than just the grade that I had in the class.
As a senior, I've seen WHS though multiple principals and numerous changes over the years. I feel fortunate to have such caring and compassionate teachers who strive to best prepare their students for the future. For me, WHS was the right environment to learn but also enjoy my high school years, as the student body made having fun easy. I hope that our administration is more reliable in the future, as that was the main aspect that I found lacking about the school.
I live in a different district and was interested in the culinary program. I transfer and was very happy with how they welcome me . I was introduced to many clubs and fell in love with the aviation club. I enjoyed it so much that I am pursuing a career in aviation. I have found a job at the air port and am working on my pilot licence. I have been in courage by all my teacher to go to college and they have help me find scholarships to help. I recommend Windsor High School to any future students.
My experience through all four years of high school at the Windsor High School have been memorable. High School was really fun because we got to choose our choice of study based on our core system. Our core system consists of three classes which in our case it being an English, history, and art/design class which meet graduation requirements. I am currently in Nueva which is a performing arts program which focuses on incorporating arts into our learning. My counselor has helped shaped the person I am today by pushing me to success and always telling me that all my hard work would pay off in the end. I am excited to continue my journey and take all the skills I have learner from high school and apply them into the real world. High School Is a place where I learned more about myself and how to spread kindness and awareness.
It is a really great school with a lot of opportunities and the sporting activities are fun. This includes the basketball and football games and all the drama plays are really amazing. It is fun to go their and the teachers always try their best to help out in anyway that they can
Had a great experience at Windsor High. The way that the classes are organized gives students the most out of their education. It has the perfect focus areas where many students find to fit in very well. This particular aspect, of the focus areas, provides students with a drive to be interested in school work
Offers Core programs - programs that allow students to learn with a close group of 90 students for two years. All students in the same core have similar interests. Core programs vary, providing something for every student, including - Advanced Placement, Pre-Med, Arts, STEM, and many more. The campus is clean and well taken care of. Staff and students care about quality education.
I have been in the Windsor school district since third grade. It has many extracurricular activities including sports and the arts. I would love to see more representation of the arts.
The dynamic of Windsor High School has definitely changed sense my graduation. After going through a principle change, the quality of student growth definitely dropped substantially, but has improved after that little hiccup. The quality of my instructors was extraordinary and I gained so much support from them to pursue what drove me the most. I definitely counted on my instructors and viewed them as another my friend. Overall, the school still has a lot of potential to grow, improve, and it's on it's way of doing so.
