Windsor High School is the best public high school in the area for upper-class high school students. As a senior, I am able to take college-level courses with exceptional teachers. But I had a very different experience in my ninth and tenth grade years. The teachers provided mostly busy work, and it took more time to complete the work than it did to learn.
The school's core system has been both a freeway and a roadblock. It has been nice to have the same teachers for two years and 3 class periods, but as an AP student, the school requires a third class so the class ends up being busy work. The majority of my class would rather just have two class periods, but by law we must have three.
Though the school has some definite areas it could be improved upon, it has overall proved to be helpful and successful. I hope for the school to use these critiques to make it easier for students to learn without as many educational barriers.
Windsor High School is definitely an all-inclusive high school. They have plenty of sports teams and on-site clubs that all students are welcome to participate in. There are specialized academic cores for junior and seniors based on the career they are interested in. As great of a school this place is, there are a couple of thing that need work. The math department is sub-par at best, and the school needs to listen to the voice of the student body, not just leadership.
