Windsor Central High School is an enjoyable experience that allows for exceptional growth and development of character and education.
The education in Windsor is very good compared to most other local schools, however there is a strong emphasis on the football team and less on other sports and the arts departments.
Windsor Central High School provides their students with countless opportunities to succeed. The staff are very supportive. They ensure students have both academic and mental support throughout their high school careers and beyond. Students are known to graduate from Windsor Central High School and go into various programs afterward, including but not limited to, college/university, the armed forces, and trade professions.
I have been in the Windsor school district for my whole life. As a senior it's safe to say I am sad to go. Windsor tries to do everything they can in order for their students to get an amazing education. For instance, we all get computers and graduating seniors get to keep theirs, they have introduced an Agriculture program and gender neutral bathrooms. Windsor is a safe district and I would encourage people to go to this district if they had the choice.
I went to Windsor my whole life and I couldn't have asked for a better school to grow up in. Teacher's want to see students succeed and make sure no one is left behind. But they also understand things happen outside of school and take it into consideration. The students are friendly and the staff was always on top of things. I really couldn't have asked for a better school.
I had one daughter graduate and I was a coach for 33 years at Windsor and my wife and I are past graduates of Windsor. It has been a great choice spending so much time in this school district. It promotes everyone to get involved with school and community. Great small town environment.
The Windsor Central School District has become very technologically advanced throughout my time as a student. They have offered new resources such as chromebooks for all students and new online programs to enhance learning. Overall the Windsor Central School District has become a 21st century learning environment and has benefited their students significantly.
The school has many opportunities for people to be in their favorite clubs, have students choose their classes, and the teachers are willing to help students who need help in all classes.
Its not the best but its not the worst either, there are very few problems with my school. We are a kind and caring family, that supports each other no matter what.
There are a lot of sport/music/art/AP classes offered to help students grow and advance their education. I wish there was more diversity in the student body and the teachers.
Windsor was able provide me with everything I needed for a college education. I was able to take 5 AP courses along with several other college classes, all while being involved in many clubs. The guidance office is extremely helpful in facing you in the direction you need to go.
It is a very good High School. Just because it is rural, it does not mean that the quality is any less. There are multiple outlets for both the sports inclined and the artistic, as well as having amazing academics.
I had many opportunities to get involved at Windsor. I participated in the band and choir all four years of my attendance. I was involved in the Student Council, and even became class president my senior year of high school. It was not a place that had a lot of cliques or posses as you would not call them. It was a much different environment that was cultivated there. Bullying was cutoff from the first signs of it, and it created an environment where most were friends. Not friends where you would always hang out, but you didn't steer clear of them in the hallways. You could say hi, and you could hold a conversation. I would definitely choose this school again. I loved school, and looked forward to going everyday.
This school does everything in their power in order to keep students and faculty safe. Safety is taken seriously and measures are taken in order to protect the school.
We used to have a police officer in our school but we had to cut him because of the budget cuts. I would say that we didn't really need him. The school is overall a safe place. The visitors have to sign in and before that, they have to be let in by a person in the office that can see them directly. We have never had anything serious take place in our school enough to call the police/911.
There are many students that participate in extracurricular activities and there are a lot to choose from. The students that are really into the clubs often go on field trips involving that type of club. Many students attend the sporting event. Most students attend the boy basketball team and the football team. Other sports don't get as much attention as some other sports. For example, breaking records for swimming and diving, all they get is a little shout-out on the TV in the cafeteria. Sometimes they don't even get that. One season for the girls swimming and diving team, we broke 7 records and we didn't get any attention by anyone. The sports are definitely favored differently.
Windsor is a very small school so everyone knows each other which brings us closer and makes us push each other to be the best. I would choose this school if i had to go back and do it all over again. The people are great and you make great friends and become very close with each other.
