Windham High School Reviews

Students cannot review their mistakes on tests and learn from them; no personal leadership from the administration; no communication between parents and faculty; an overload of homework that's mostly just "busy work" in many subjects that only feeds the teachers' egos and fails to deepen a student's understanding of a subject; no "Language Arts" and "Social Studies" classes; the prevalence of substance misuse like underage drinking and vaping with no program in place to address these issues leads a parent to wonder why the school is rated as highly as it is. The culture at this school favors sports over academics and the arts. The Science Department has been a disappointment. One teacher has turned off two grades' worth of science students because of his lack of passion and inability to engage. The pointless homework overload destroys enthusiasm.

Windham High school is a technologically advanced high school dedicated to helping the students in it. WHS is an amazing school for sports, clubs, and education. Having access to a computer makes learning fast and easy especially when all of our books are online. The ability to email teachers for help or to get help in the learning center is fantastic. We have after school volunteers who help with tutoring and even teachers who are there after hours for after school or before school visits.
It's a good school that prepares you for college. Has a good variety of activities, sports, and music opportunities. I've gotten a lot from my involvement with my teachers in the music program. The school building is fairly new so it's a nice place to be in with a great view from the 2nd floor. Windham is a fairly small town so the total enrollment of this school is a small with just a couple of hundred students per grade so if you're looking for a lot of diversity and more than just the usual type of clubs you won't find that here at Windham High.
