I feel that I was well prepared for college. Biology and my history classes at Windber gave me the background knowledge necessary for college. All dual enrollment classes should be taken advantage of. However, the English program does not prepare all students to write college length papers. The school environment is not one that I would personally want to put my children in.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a student at Windber Area High School. I made so many unforgettable memories. Throughout the last four years, I got to make lasting friendships and experience things that I never could have imagined. The teachers truly do everything they can to help their students. So many upper level courses are offered. These courses have prepared me for college.
Teachers will work with students to help them achieve maximum understanding of material and encourage them however needed in the courses they are taking. The administration works with students to help them receive the best education they can, IF they are deemed worthy. If students do not insert themselves in classroom discussions and portray themselves as outgoing and ready to take charge, they will be completely overlooked academically, regardless of how smart they are. Unless such students fight to get tested for gifted and make it into the program, they will receive no assistance in bettering their education whatsoever.
