The academic opportunities are outstanding, and guidance is very active towards giving you ample opportunities for a good shot at college. Your schoolwork can quickly get rigorous if you decide to take Honors/APs, but you learn a lot the more you push yourself. The only negative thing I can say about WHS is that the school's diversity could greatly improve amongst the student and the staff members.
Very competitive atmosphere and a lot of the teachers were not very interested in students' success. Some teachers really were great but they tended to be rare. The school is more interested in high test scores than students' well-being, which is sad. I think kids get into top schools because of expensive tutors and resources they pay for more than the school, and lower-tier students are somewhat forgotten.
I am currently a senior at Winchester High School and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I have enjoyed all the support from my teachers and faculty, and have had the time of my life exploring all the different opportunities in high school. Go Sachems!
