Willowbrook high school is a pretty good school compared to others. It has great facilities and resources for the students. They also have an exceptional staff and supportive teachers! I enjoyed my experience at this school and will definitely miss the teachers the most. The teachers here put in all their efforts to make sure everyone is understanding the material. One thing, however, would be that, considering how diverse the school is, I would expect students to be more welcoming of others' cultures/races. On another note, when applying to college, I felt very prepared because my counselor provided me with multiple resources and step-by-step how to complete all my tasks before graduating. They made everything super easy!
Willowbrook High School is a unique school which is one of the most diverse in the State. The teachers are very involved with the school life, and many can be seen supporting our sports teams. Unfortunately, this support is not for all activities and disproportionately falls on specific sports. Many clubs and activities are not given budgets and struggle to provide equipment and gear for those clubs all while some sports teams get new uniforms every year. I hope that through student body organizations we can change this pattern. Our facilities are very nice, and we have a very large football stadium perfect for football games. However, our cafeteria is out of date and could use more funding to provide healthy food to students. Many teachers are alumni of the school, and many alumni still live in the surrounding community. Attending Willowbrook high school is a legacy in which the community bonds over.
At Willowbrook, the concept that we are "one school, one family" truly stands out as the administration and students embrace diversity. The academic opportunities are wonderful from many honors, APs, and even dual credit classes as well as a partnership with TCD, allowing students to take career oriented classes. I have been able to take so many classes that are preparing me for life and letting me explore different careers. Also, the atmosphere at sporting events and other school events is amazing. Everyone comes to support and cheer.
