Williamsville South High School Reviews
Rating 4 out of 5 245 reviews
What I like the most about Williamsville South High School is its choice of teachers. Most of them are very highly skilled and it's clear that they care about their students deeply. The administration of the school is also fantastic, because they provide safety in our school. The counselor I have is a very great human being, and I'm sure other counselors in this school are as well. He provides me with all the necessary information to be successful in my future, answers all of my questions and concerns, and helps me in every way/shape or form. Over all, it's a great high school with great faculty members, and it's located in a safe, quiet, and comfortable location.
Due to the area this school is located in the students that attend this school are mean. Bullying happens here. It is hard to make friends here. If you’re not athletic this school might be really hard to attend. Students here are obsessed with sports and don’t treat those who lack athletic ability kindly. This school has a big drug/vaping problem. It seems like almost every time I go into a girls bathroom there are students vaping or getting high. Students go to class high and nothing is done. When a student needs to report to the main office or guidance they are called down over the announcements for the whole school to hear. Not only is this embarrassing but also students just won’t go. Some teachers here are great but some aren’t. This school seems to be poorly run and is in a location where very mean students go there.
If this is a parent who is aware of there child being LGBTQ+, please listen carefully. not only will you child probably get ignored by teachers, but they will be silently outcasted by there whole class and have no friends. reconsider sending you child to a more inclusive school, because while I may have survived this place, it does NOT mean you child can. This is meant to be a PSA to all kids who are part of the community. It's not dangerous to go here, but you might just end up with some long lasting mental health problems and trauma.
On a lighter note, I will say there are safe spaces and certain teachers who you can go to for help. The problem is their availability and if their even teaching most days. Many of the teachers here just go on vacation mid-school year or take numerous sick days. This leads to inconsistent teaching and students falling behind and putting their academics before their health.
