I loved Williamsport, mainly because of the atmosphere in the community. When football season was around, everyone in the community gathered around to cheer on the Wildcats and it was always incredibly exciting. Even if our team wasn’t doing too great, we would always be there supporting them on their journey. Baseball season was even modern popular; we even made it to the State Champsionships! It all couldn’t have been done without the support of the community.
This is a small school in a very small town. Overall, this school is okay. I say it is only okay because I believe the faculty does not help student as much as they need to. From personal experience, if I were having a bad day and needed someone to talk to, going to the guidance office was no help. The counselors were never to be found or they were too busy to listen to you. This problem has always stuck with me because I have always felt "unheard" or ignored when I would reach out for help. If the school staff focused more on students well-being and mental health then yes, I would rate my school five stars.
My experience was average. There was a pattern of bias in all activities. Coaches, teachers, and faculty would favor certain students over others. Many faculty would leave at random points through out the school term for other jobs, leaving the students without another real teacher of their subject for months as the school would take that long to hire replacements. The school was not very thoughtful of students with frequent health issues as they would interrogate kids just returning from days of bed rest, with notes from doctors. They would also frequently paint through out the school, leaving many students breathless from the paint fumes. I must say that the school did have some dedicated teachers that were always there for their students, no matter what the situation may be.
