There were certain teachers who were very good at their job and obviously cared more than other teachers. Since it was such a small school, students did not have many options, but when given the choice they would choose the better teacher who would be more challenging and help the student better themselves. The teachers had an understanding of the material they were teaching, but they did not always make the teaching exiting or interesting. The students could tell when a teacher was not interested and became lazy. These teachers usually simply copied information from a textbook and gave the students lots of busy work. This is not considered good teaching because the students were teaching themselves.

Following the departure and eviction of 12 wonderful teachers, the quality, as well as quantity, of teachers at Williamsfield High School has decreased a tremendous amount. I feel as though I have an increasing lack of knowledge as I trudge through this uneventful, noneducational, and long school year. Some of the new teachers are more suitable to teach younger levels such as middle school or elementary and fall short of any kind of teacher within the high school classrooms. We crave attention, action, and knowledge yet all we receive is busy work and elementary assignments that don't challenge the mind, but challenge the amount of work we can do in the shortest span of time which is not a practice that hones any particular skill, but creates resentment and an unwillingness to cooperate.
It's a small school with the all of the usual advantages and disadvantages of small schools. There wasn't AP classes or anything similar when I went. It's a basic education, not really college prep, you took the classes given to you . But the building is small, class sizes very small, it supports a strong sense of community (which is good if you fit it, bad if you don't). I don't regret going there.
