In the past two years they have completed their renovation of the west wing. We now have a new cafeteria, library, and media center. The counseling department is constantly hard at work to supply the students with multiple opportunities. They always alert us with eligible scholarships. The administration is friendly with all students and you can always expect someone willing to help when you enter the office. The building is aged , but not antique. The new part of the school is modern and has very nice facilities. A new lighting and audio set up has been installed in the auditorium. The teachers are helpful and understanding with the students. Though it is slightly diverse, we do have several international students from many countries. The music program, which I have been apart of for many years, is very exciting and inclusive. Students can be friendly, with the bad kid every once in a while. I would recommend coming here if you wanted a fresh start.

The teachers I had during my 4 year high school experience here are excellent, the memories are unforgettable. Here’s some of the good and just a little bad.

Always felt like the school paid more attention to the athletic kids. Okay, cool, you play sports. Here’s a banner with your face on it and your name engraved in gold. Okay not the gold part but athletic seniors do get a banner which was totally not fair to all the other seniors.

Also the lunches aren’t very vegetarian-friendly. And if you’re vegan just forget it. They have maybe 3 options and half the time they were out of 1/3 of them. get ready for a lot of parfaits if you’re vegetarian. Also breakfast was always the same and not many healthy choices.

The school itself just had construction done and the lunchroom and library are now college-level gorgeous. The library was one of my favorite places to spend time. The librarians are super sweet and there’s always a puzzle out and a quiet place you can go to read.
I am honored to be a part of such a wonderful school such as William Monroe High school. The teachers have always had my back and I’ve always had such amazing people surrounding me. However, I feel like college readiness should be more emphasized in the beginning of freshman year rather than a thought in senior year. This way, students are not rushing and under stress. I also feel that the school should address its issues with bullying. Overall however, I have greatly enjoyed my school experience here.
