The teachers are really what make this school. Because it's so small, the teachers mostly do seem to genuinely care about the students. Class sizes are generally between 5-20 kids, with a few outliers in the middle school math and such. People so often say that WKHS feels like a family. I kind of agree. I say the school is like a family on a road trip. We know each other, and to see a stranger is rare, but we also bicker, and we're petty. By the time winter break rolls around, we're all sick and tired of being on the road and we hate each other. But we don't really. And eventually we'll come back, after we've graduated, and probably forget how angry we were at each other. Mostly. However, the diversity is extremely lacking. Perhaps also consider that the family on this road trip is loudly republican.

William Kelley is an acceptably academic school, which is subpar in most other aspects. The sports are subpar, the clubs are nearly nonexistent. Some of the educators are excellent but it's a very mixed group. Queer students have historically been forced to stay closeted to avoid harassment, and the school is unwilling to address the needs of an alum. I'd been hopeful that the school would catch up culturally, but to my knowledge it's still living firmly in the past.
I loved William Kelley (W.K.H.S) because while it was a small school it was a family. I go to school everyday and can name everyone of the seniors, juniors, and most of the sophomores and that is a good thing. While not all of the classes or academics are the best, and by no means are all of the people saints, I have always loved going to W.K.H.S because the people are wonderful and the community is amazing.
