William Fremd High School Reviews
Rating 3.99 out of 5 652 reviews
Fremd is overall a great school with amazing faculty and great courses offered. We have a variety of clubs and student led associations that are really fun to be a part of. As a public school, our class sizes are larger, but teachers focus on every student in the class. The one shortcoming at the school is the number of teachers in certain areas. If a student wants to start a club, most teachers are too busy to sponsor the student's ideas. Other than that, the school is highly ranked and the atmosphere is amazing!
As a senior, I have spent a lot of time reflecting on my high school journey. I am proud to say that I have attended William Fremd for the past four years. Known as one of the most rigorous public schools in Illinois, Fremd has pushed me academically and I feel ready to go on to college. I am grateful for the AP classes Fremd has to offer and the wonderful teachers who teach these courses. My peers rank high academically and they motivate me each day to do my best. Besides the academics, Fremd has so many fascinating clubs and activities available for students. This is a great way to meet new people and explore your passions. If I could change one thing about Fremd, I would add more language courses to the curriculum. Fremd is a very diverse school, but we don’t offer diverse classes. As a first-generation student, I would love the opportunity to take a language class in my foreign language. Overall, Fremd is a superb place and I am proud to be a Viking!
I've really liked my experience at Fremd. They have a lot of club and sports activities such as marching band. One of the reasons I believe that I've had a great experience is because I joined afterschool clubs and the marching band. Of course doing all sorts of activities had made it stressful, but I have no regrets.
Being in the Marching band is one of the best thing I've ever done. I got the full alumni experience by marching in the; heat, rain, snow, cold, and we even saw a towarado once! I have made many friends in marching band too.
Fremd is a safe and active school, but the staff seems to treat us unequally. I only got the chance to notice this after attend Fremd for four years. The staff wont let you walk around during lunch time even if you've finished your lunch and arent causing any trouble. There have also been some unfortunate encounters where they raise their voice at us. I think Fremd should work on having respectful staff and treating people equal.
